What is so unique about Water Ionizers?
The KYK 25000 Genesis water ionizer is far, far more than just a filter. It offers four great benefits for the body's health: Antioxidants, Alkalinity, smaller water clusters offering excellent hydration and continuous detoxification, while the water is delicious and easy to drink.

Alkaline water ionizers improve the taste of food beyond that of normal filtered water. It very often allows users to modify their diet naturally and without stress as the user ‘s basic pH balance changes. Weight loss is a common free bonus of drinking alkaline ionized water.

How does Ionized Alkaline Water affect athletes?
In an extremely positive way, as you might expect. Blood oxygen levels will rise at varying amounts with regular use of strong Ionized Water. This increases stamina, endurance and provides the muscles tissue and organs with high amounts of oxygen, which the human body often lacks, even in athletes because inadequate diets.
Proper hydration sustains the body's physiological responses in all activities, but the physical and mental stresses of athletic training and competition magnify the importance of hydration. Numerous studies conducted on athletes since the 1940s have demonstrated that even mild dehydration impairs performance.
Current thought is that athletes consuming a traditional Western diet have consumed an abundance of salt, so there is no need to replace salt when exercise last less than two hours. Water that has been alkalinized may help neutralize the exercise induced acidosis (lactic acid build up), since the pH of alkaline water is high.
Ionized water may help act as a free-radical scavenger to address the issue of accelerated oxygen consumption. Ionized water is micro-clustered, so it may be absorbed at a faster rate, helping with rehydration.
Dr. Peter L. Kopko, D.C., recommends drinking 13 to 20 ounces (2-3 cups) of water 2 hours before exercise and 5 to 10 ounces (about 1-2 cups) every 15 to 20 minutes of exercise, depending on your total body weight.
Is this a new product?
The Ionizing Water Filter is not a new product. KYK has been selling for sixteen years in the Asian markets, selling over US $ 15 Million in 2007. Many Asian and American families now use this amazing, proven product. Way back in 1992, for instance, 130,000 domestic ionizers were sold in Japan alone.
Why is it expensive?
Frankly, it isn't. Compared to bottled water solutions, it is both economical and environmentally acceptable. The total cost per liter of ionized water produced is approx

Just what is the magic in a Water Ionizer?
The ‘magic' is really a simple process called electrolysis, or ionization. Ionized water has four qualities that are great for the body's health: plenty of Antioxidants, Alkalinity, excellent Hydration, continuous detoxification.
A custom designed motherboard controls all aspects of the process of ionization, including flow rate, water temperature, and a range of customizable pH output settings.
Will my Ionizer fit my kitchen tap?
Pureskin does not support the direct connection to a multi temperature tap. The water ionizer needs to be securely connected to the cold water source only. Any chance to accidently turn on the hot water tap and run hot water through the unit must be eliminated.
Therefore Pureskin requires the customer to get the Water ionizer installed by a plumber and for it to be connected directly to a cold water supply. The installing plumber will need to sign the warranty installation confirmation.

Do I need any special fittings?
This depends on the type of installation that you want to have.
Can it go under my bench?
Yes it can. There is a necessity to provide a drain for the acid water to flow to. You may wish to collect this water or simply connect it to a drain.
Can I fit it to my existing filter?
You can, to some. Please check with us on this one.
There are white substances on the bottom of my alkaline ionized water storage container. What are these?
This phenomenon is caused by the calcium mineral substances in alkaline ionized water. Particularly, if the carboxyl group (CO3) is present, it will bind to the calcium carbonate (Ca CO3), creating such substances. This is apparent evidence of electrolysis. Although it is safe to drink, wash the container - add one spoon of edible vinegar and water to the container, leave the container for approximately 1 hour, and wash the container.
What can I use the acid water for?
The acid water is a ‘free' bonus. It is excellent for all manner of skin complaints. It can be used as an astringent face wash, used to fill fountain reservoirs reducing algal growth, it's excellent for hair care, acne, sores, bench top sterilization, general cleaning and more.
Why does it ‘split' the water into acid and alkaline?
The ‘splitting' of the H2O (water) is the proof that the Ionizer does what it says it does.
The process of splitting causes the following:
- Approximately 70% of the H20 (water) input is molecularly rearranged into OH-, or alkaline, negatively charged water.
- Approximately 30% of the input H2O is molecularly rearranged into HO, or acidic water.
Why can't I just drink water?
You certainly CAN just drink water. Ionized water from water ionizers is light water. It has a smaller molecular cluster and you can drink it all day hydrating the body really effectively. Ordinary water does not penetrate your cells like alkaline, ionized water, and this is why ionized water with its bounty of Antioxidants is able to rid you of acid wastes in the cells. It can go where ordinary water cannot, and it has the capacity to neutralize free radicals, and to balance acidity in the body.
Can a person become too Alkaline from drinking Ionized Alkaline Water?
People have been known to drink as much as 1 to 2 gallons of Ionized Water every day and gotten great benefit from it. And they have not become too alkaline. On the contrary, one of the most common imbalances people have today that leads to health problems is that they are too acidic.
Our body pH should be approximately 7.2 (measured through saliva or urine). The more acidic we are, meaning a 6.6 pH or lower, the greater opportunity we have provided disease to flourish in us. In fact, it is rare for a person to acquire Alkalosis, the condition of being too alkaline. We should always drink Alkaline Water and eat Alkaline Foods such as fruits and vegetables.
How do I know if I have acidosis or an acid-overloaded system?
Many people do. The pace of life, the state of our foods, the concentration of acid- producing items in our diet means that the majority of people are overloaded. You might know individuals who seem to be calm all the time, there's a very good chance that he or she isn't acid overloaded.
You can use a litmus urine or saliva test to give you some idea of your acidity. This is not foolproof, however, because your body is always attempting to balance your acid and alkaline levels and could well be getting rid of a lot of acid at the time of the test. It is a good idea to give consideration to your diet. There are many sites that will give you a list of acid and alkaline-producing foods.
Why does the water ionizers filter leave some minerals in and not others?
The KYK 30000 Genesis has 2 filters. Filter 1 has an Antibiotic one-side filter, Zeomic, Noxious odour calcium, Active Carbon with silver added, Sediment filter. Filter 2 has an Antibiotic one-side filter, Granular activated carbon, Active carbon (with silver added). It filters to 0.01 microns, removing bacteria, contaminants and even viruses. It does not filter outminerals that are in solution because they won't stick to the carbon. Minerals that are not in solution will be filtered out.
What about hard water?
Hard water may require a pre-filter. Please call us to discuss.
How do I change the filter?
Open the back doors, unplug the filter (sensor for filter counter is connected). Then take hold of the filter and turn as directions show on top of filter, then pull it upward. (Troubleshooting: If it goes a bit hard, which sometimes happens when the rubber seal gets ceased on the base through sitting there for a year or more), then ask a mate to give you a hand and turn together (4hands). It should be easy then. When you are ready to place the new filter, also check that the seal is still in good shape. Then place the new filter accordingly, as you undid the old. When finished, run the system for a few minutes to clear away any loose charcoal.
Is the Ionizing Water Filter just another new, unproved fad?
Water ionizers have been in use worldwide for more than 20 years. The same concept has been used for home and industrial applications. In Korea, KYK appliances have been approved by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. Hundreds of thousands are already in use in Korea and Japan.
Why did it take so long to introduce water ionizers to some countries?
KYK Water Science Company made a decision to concentrate its design and marketing efforts in its domestic area before moving internationally. In the last few years KYK has started to market internationally in Japan, USA, Great Britain and now New Zealand and Australia.
What are some of the more harmful organisms and chemicals removed from water by the KYK Genesis Water Ionizer?
Chlorine, Trihalomethanes, Suspended solids, Cryptosporidium, Parasites (cysts), Waterborne flu virus E-coli, Suspended solids, Organic compounds, Bacteria and Radioactive particulates.
What maintenance do water ionizers require?
The new KYK 30000 has a fully automatic cleaning cycle that occurs every 12 hours. The filters have a counter that alerts you to the need for replacement towards the end of the filter life.
How can an Ionizer treat skin rashes and acne?
Acid water kills bacteria and keeps our skin clean naturally. It is also a natural astringent that will tighten as it cleans. It won't irritate skin like chemical based acne and rash treatments.
I know what I should eat and drink to be healthy, but I can't seem to keep to a consistent program. How will an ionizing filter help me?
Drinking ionized water and your interest in health are a good match. By default, drinking the ionizer water, you will get lots of antioxidants into your body thereby consistently detoxifying your body on a cellular level.
Provided you drink the water you will hydrate your body well. Ionized water also assists you to increase alkalinity in the body helping to balance the effects of acidity accumulated from food, stress and other acidifying factors.
So what if water is easier to absorb?
With the increased solubility of the water, it is more readily absorbed into your body. Your skin and hair becomes significantly softer. In addition, it can enhance the absorption of vitamins and minerals into your body. It also may help clear up some digestive problems.
Who should drink Ionized Alkaline Water?
People, pets and animals will all notice benefits from drinking Ionized Alkaline Water.
Why is some water healthier than others?
People located in the Hunza Districts of Pakistan, Shin-Chan areas of China, the Caucasus in Azerbaijan, and in the Andes Mountains live longer with less health problems. Researchers believe that these waters are very pure and have a negative ORP (oxidation reduction potential) potential caused by either intimate contact with certain native volcanic materials/minerals or by cascading over certain igneous rocks. It is proven that KYK Ionizers are able to produce the same effect.
Shouldn't we be drinking water as close to our blood pH as possible?
In a perfect world, we would have perfect pH input to our bodies. Unfortunately this is not a perfect world and the reason Ionized alkaline water is so popular is because the majority of people are excessively acidic. The pH of our blood is the supreme commandment of the body. All systems work to support its stability, most often to the detriment of ‘lower order' body systems such as pancreas, kidneys, bones, and pH buffering system.
The lower intestine suffers with leaky gut syndrome when the stomach can't digest properly. The stomach cannot digest properly if the blood pH is being supported first by robbing the stomach of its alkaline pH buffers. We are not an unlimited system, and our bodies are forever shunting resources around to the place of most need. When we have an excess of acid entering our bodies, and a scarcity of alkaline foods or water, we can drink water that is more alkaline than the blood pH. Scientists at Shiga University in Japan have determined the best pH for drinking water to be between 8 and 9.5.
Where are the Ionizers made?
All KYK ionizers are made in Korea.
What kind of warranty do they have?
We offer a three year warranty on KYK 25000 and KYK 30000 water ionizer. We will repair or replace any part which, in the opinion of the Importer, is defective. The water ionizer needs to be installed by a registered plumber and being connected to the cold water pipe. The plumber needs to sign off the warranty card.
This warranty is voided if the unit has been subjected to tampering, alteration, or improper use after delivery or has been repaired by anyone other than an authorized representative of KYK and the New Zealand Importer.
